Acquistive Crime

Government Office for the North West works closely with the Home Office and other Government Departments to ensure the clear interpretation and delivery of national policy at a local level. We also maintain a regional overview of trends of both acquisitive crime and its displacement (that is, the relocation of this criminal activity from one area to another).

The region has a range of schemes and initiatives aimed at tackling acquisitive crime and we help distribute funds to some of these.  Acquisitive Crime includes, for example, burglary, vehicle crime, robbery (personal), theft from the person and theft of pedal cycles.
