supporting one million adults in the workforce to achieve Level 2 qualifications (equivalent to 5 A*-C GCSEs) between 2003 and 2006
Much of the work we do involves our partners which include Learning and Skills Councils, Regional Development Agencies, the Department for Work and Pensions and JobCentre Plus. Specific roles include:

challenging and supporting the Regional Skills Partnership and ensuring that they set regional targets for the achievement of Level 2 qualifications

ensuring that the skills agenda is effectively linked to the children and learner’s agenda

acting as an observer at the board meetings of the Learning and Skills Councils in the region; and

advising regional partners on Departmental priorities, delivery programmes and key outcomes
